Niche and unique ceramic studio in Berlin. They are not restricted to one style and are constantly handcrafting new pieces themselves. Their work ranges from tableware and vases to furniture and artwork. The styles range from minimalist, primitive, modern and contemporary, and fit in with a variety of scenes. It would be somewhat unfitting to talk about them in the field of crafts or ceramics. Somehow I feel the influence of fashion and music. They will also show us very different work in a few years time.

Greece (GR)
Maru Meleniou's background is rooted is art and design. Her shift in ceramics came in a time when graphic design has started to be become digitised. While looking for a more tactile expression she met with ceramics. The solitude, the repetitive and transformative nature of the medium was for her an absorbing exploration. Her work is based on organic forms, earth colors and various textures, on the small details, differences, imperfections and qualities that mirror the honesty of the hand - building creative process.
